Darren Till isn’t of the opinion that Tommy Fury will have much for him when they meet in the boxing ring on 18 January.

After a somewhat bizarre entry into the boxing world this past summer where he was awarded a TKO win in a hot-tempered exhibition against fellow MMA fighter Mohammad Mutie in Dubai, Till takes on a higher standard of competition against the still-unbeaten Fury, brother of former world heavyweight champion Tyson.

Ahead of the bout, Till has said that he will be harshly penalised if he employs any mixed martial arts techniques in the ring.

“I will lose all of [my purse],” he told Norske Bettingsider, as noted by British Boxing News. “All of my money will go. But I don’t really care, I’m not arsed. I’m going to make this a dog fight.”

Till’s move into boxing comes over two years after his most recent fight under MMA rules, a submission defeat to current middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis — his fifth loss in six. But while he still sees a path back to the UFC roster, he says that his current career trajectory is guided by a specific type of motivation.

“I’m not arsed,” he said of potentially handing over a part of his purse. “I don’t care. I know there’s a little thing going on lately people talking about ‘why’s Darren Till saying he’s not arsed’?. I’m just genuinely not arsed. It’s not a bad thing. Like, trust me, I’m the most loving man to my kids, to my woman, to my friends. But I just genuinely don’t care. You know what I care about? Just having a laugh and violence.

“It’s gonna be a big pay-per-view, I think. Let’s just say I’ve got my eye on a few Rolexes after this fight.

“Obviously I am sharing the Pay-Per-view buys. Who the f*ck sold the press conference? The f*cking Furys didn’t sell it. What did they do? They walked out. I am Misfits. KSI’s a bum. Tommy Fury’s a bum. Jake Paul’s a bum. I am Misfits. I run Misfits now.”

Darren Till vs. Tommy Fury will take place at heavyweight across eight, three-minute rounds.
